Letter from the Chair of the Class of 2015

Kathleen Larrison, Holland & Knight
July 17, 2014

As the Planning Committee and I begin to flesh out the program for the Class of 2015, our excitement builds for what the new class members will encounter and how they will help shape the program. Each year, the Leadership St. Pete® (LSP) program is enhanced by bringing forward what we have learned in past years; additionally, we seek out new experiences and opportunities for growth and development. This year, we are considering at least 20 market segments as seminar topics for the Class of 2015. Be assured that the lineup will be relevant, timely and inspiring.

Whether you are brand new to the St. Petersburg area or have lived here for years, you will be amazed at how much there is to learn about our wonderful city. Founded in 1969, LSP is one of the oldest and most respected leadership programs in the United States. The LSP mission is to identify, recruit and develop people who represent the community’s diversity and will become its future leaders.

LSP offers a blend of networking, relationship-building, leadership development and giving back to our community. Participants of the program receive leadership training, develop skills necessary to be board members of community organizations, build lasting and life-long relationships with fellow class members and gain access to current community decision makers.

The St. Petersburg we live in is quite different from the city I chose as my new home in 1988. While a beautiful setting then, the results of vision, hard work, great debate and social discourse are evident in the award-winning destination St. Pete has become. My experience in LSP underscored my belief that it is our responsibility to lead through participating in good works and taking reasonable risks to ensure a strong future.

I encourage you to join us in 2015 and see where LSP can take you – please consider applying to LSP to become a member of the next “Best Class Ever!”
